The US producer fleet.dreams follows up his own label debut, the second EP “Limbs Of A Lion” turning out as another fest of drums. The opener “Masked In Porcelain” shows the direction: gentle yet booming deep house with dub and progressive touch. Thinking of the past, I would draw parallels with The Drum Club and its kins. Sexy flow of sound continues in “Secret Of The Golden Flower”. Percussion is a few grades stronger and seemingly endless loops have a firm grip of the floor. A colorful set of layers paints a trance-like atmosphere.
As often happens, the flip side is the icing on the cake. First, it’s time for a rest. The music doesn’t stop, it just shows the other side of fleet.dreams. “Ill Enargeia” is a broad and brave dub track, which stays within the club premises, for healing zombified figures before the dawn. “Limbs Of A Lion” welcomes the sunlight, with ethereal accents and dub residues.
